Merchant City Festival
As part of The Merchant City Festival on the 19th-20th of July, we’re welcoming Soundplay Projects, showcasing an accessible, interactive exhibition of sound and light. Children and adults are welcome to come play and explore.
Outside The Boardwalk, watch out for street theatre, live music and more throughout Merchant City over this exciting weekend. We will also be hosting a quiet room for those looking for a little break from the festivities.
CashBack Summer
Throughout July and August, we’re welcoming Cashback Summer to The Boardwalk, a programme run by Impact Arts helping young people develop skills, build confidence and make friends through creative activities.
Remember, whenever you book a room at The Boardwalk for your own creative groups and workshops, profit goes straight to funding these kinds of programmes at Impact Arts. Our aim as a social enterprise is to provide an excellent arts venue that can give back to the community, providing invaluable support to disadvantaged children and adults.
Theatre and dance
There a plenty of theatre and dance going on at The Boardwalk this summer, with National Youth Theatre’s Junior Summer Course starting on the 15th of July and rehearsals and performances by Vivace Theatre School and RCV Productions coming up throughout July and August.
We are glad to see so many groups taking advantage of The Boardwalk’s excellent facilities for the performing arts – such as our Purple Room with its sprung flooring and a full-length mirror, as well as the Black Box Studio Theatre for intimate performances.

Filmmaking workshop
But we’re not limited to art and dance – Tiny Changes, a mental health charity for young people, is hosting a filmmaking workshop from 28th July- 8th August. We’re thrilled to be helping another charity whose goal is to show young people the benefits creativity and art can have on mental health and wellbeing. The Boardwalk is a creative, accessible venue in the heart of Glasgow’s Merchant City with a variety of meeting, performance, studio, and event spaces for hire.
